Trading robustness with optimality in nonlinear control

چکیده
The mixed H /H control problem is studied for a class of nonlinear systems. A procedure providing a sub-optimal solution to this problem is discussed and analyzed in detail. The sub-optimal state-feedback control law can be obtained solving two Hamilton}Jacobi equations and a simple one parameter static minimization problem. A simple one-dimensional example is discussed in detail and applications to the optimal/robust stabilization of the angular velocities of a rigid body are included. 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. Planning and Control of Two-Link Rigid Flexible Manipulators in Dynamic Object Manipulation Missions
This research focuses on proposing an optimal trajectory planning and control method of two link rigid-flexible manipulators (TLRFM) for Dynamic Object Manipulation (DOM) missions. For the first time, achievement of DOM task using a rotating one flexible link robot was taken into account in [20]. The authors do not aim to contribute on either trajectory tracking or vibration control of the End-...
متن کاملAdvances in Nonlinear Predictive Control: A Survey on Stability and Optimality
Some recent advances in stability and optimality for the nonlinear receding horizon control (NRHC) or the nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) are assessed. The NRHCs with terminal conditions are surveyed in terms of a terminal state equality constraint, a terminal cost, and a terminal constraint set. Other NRHCs without terminal conditions are surveyed in terms of a control Lyapunov funct...
متن کاملSecond Order Sliding Mode Observer-Based Control for Uncertain Nonlinear MEMS Optical Switch
This paper studies theuncertain nonlinear dynamics of a MEMS optical switch addressing electrical, mechanical and optical subsystems. Recently, MEMS optical switch has had significant merits in reliability, control voltage requirements and power consumption. However, an inherent weakness in designing control for such systems is unavailability of switch position information at all times due to t...
متن کاملOptimality and Robustness of the English Auction
In Milgrom and Weber’s (1982) “general symmetric model,” under few additional regularity conditions, the English auction maximizes the seller’s expected profit within the class of all posteriorimplementable trading procedures, and fails to do so among all interim incentive-compatible procedures in which ‘losers do not pay.’ These results suggest that appropriate notions of robustness and simpli...
متن کاملOn Sequential Optimality Conditions without Constraint Qualifications for Nonlinear Programming with Nonsmooth Convex Objective Functions
Sequential optimality conditions provide adequate theoretical tools to justify stopping criteria for nonlinear programming solvers. Here, nonsmooth approximate gradient projection and complementary approximate Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions are presented. These sequential optimality conditions are satisfied by local minimizers of optimization problems independently of the fulfillment of constrai...
